In this lesson students are introduced to the historical thinking concept of Historical Perspectives through an examination of the internment of Japanese-Canadians during the Second World War.
Fascinating histories of two very different music recordings: A popular love song from the First World War that centres around a romantic encounter involving doughnuts; and an excerpt from a classic recording of a baroque masterpiece that had originally been released for the phonograph as a monstrous 36-disc set.
This lesson is part of the Expo 67 Unit Plan. This activity is to be done throughout a course at the end of each unit. It serves as an acquisition portion of the overall final summative and can also be used as a unit overview.
