The main story of our project was about how bannock was made and the origin of bannock and how many amazing creations people have made with this mouthwatering dish! We chose this topic as it is very cultural as well as a cultural staple to Canada and the First Nations people. Some of the key people in this topic were the Scottish fur traders as they brought it to Canada, the Ojibwe as they gave the name for bannock. Bannock is so important to Canadians because it was one of the first foods to come to Canada. What is bannock? Well bannock is way more than just some average old bread; it is a cultural staple and symbolizes many different things like survival and resilience!

What sources and evidence did you consult for your project? What different perspectives did they provide on your topic?

We found that there are many different ways to make Bannock and culture groups that connect to it.
