Some key people in my project were W.L Mackenzie King was serving as prime minister in Canada through 1921-1926, 1926-1930, and 1935- 1948. He served through almost all of the Depresion but he believed that intervention was not needed and decided to ignore it. Another key man was R.B Bennet he was a prime minister of Canada from 1930-1935 and he believed that intervention in this era was needed but the popel didnt listen to him instead they named the bennet buggy after him in spite (the bennet buggy is a car with everything hollowed out and pulled by horses they did this because they couldnt afford gas). The Market Crash of 1929 was the main event causing the Great Depresion, the market crash happend becuase of the massive increase on buying on margin which ment to buy with bowwored money but this was a very faigile system very probe to crashing. In response of my inquiry question and its answer; The Great Depression affected Canada by making its people suffer through homlessness, starvation, and lack of a income this was very bad and killed a lot of Canadians but it also helped health and life expecticy. Therefore it also taught Canada a great lesson on laubor laws and buying stocks.

What sources and evidence did you consult for your project? What different perspectives did they provide on your topic?

I sourced a couple of different websites fro the sake of seeing diffrent views so I could get the full picture.vFor a example one website said that the african-americans suffered the same as the whites during this time and a different one said that they suffered more this isnt the best example but only one that came up in my research.

What is the historical significance of your topic?

The Great Depresion had many long term effects on familys because most members of ones family would have no income and would be very prone to death, this could have long-lasting effects on the familys mental state, finalcal state and altogeter life. There were many short terms affects like the scarce of losing more or less all their wealth, a dramatic increase in losing their jobs, and banks crashing. Even though The Great Depresion affected everyone in Canada the prarie provinces for affected the most; this was because of the dustbowels happening before causing crops to fail and farmers to lose their jobs. Also the African-Americans were affected severely because of racist views and prejudice agrainst them. A lot of chnages happend from what we learned from tjis event but one of this biggest ones is the unemploment laws, for instance now you have to give people a 2 week notice before firing them and give them a substnacal bit of money so they dont go bankrupt from lsing there job before they can find anothe rone.

Why did you choose this topic?

I choose this topic to spread awareness about The Great Depresion and to inform people about how it started and the hardships the different minorities went through. Because people that I know ho are older then me have no clue what the Great Depresion is and it honestly hurts me, mostly because this was such a integral part of our history and people should know about it.
