Dawson Charlie

My film is about Dawson Charlie. He was a First Nation that was one of the first men to find gold in the Klondike.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

The most interesting thing that I learned was that Skookum Jim carried 156 pounds of bacon over the Chilkoot pass.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

I have Learned that life during the Gold Rush was very Challenging. Especially going over the Chilkoot pass. The prospectors had to carry over a hundred pounds on there back.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

Dawson Charlie's life was a lot more challenging. He had a lot more obstacles to overcome than me.
