Mary Elizabeth (Radcliff) Philip

My project is about my great grandma’s farming life and what she did on the farm. I describe what her animals were, family connections and my heritage.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

The most interesting thing I learned is that my great grandma was a farmer. Also, I thought my family tree was pretty cool, too. The other very interesting part I learned was the farming statistics.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

The more you know about your family, the more you know about yourself. Your heritage is a great gift. There's always more to learn about your heritage.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

My house is bigger than Mary's. Mary wore different type of earrings. Hers screwed on and our ears get pierced. Not as many people use root houses now than they used to.
