Komagata Maru

The Komagata Maru was a ship that had 375 passengers that were from India. When the ship reached Vancouver, it was not allowed to dock and it was returned to India.

 

 

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

That there was a lot of racism back then.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

Even if history is bad or good, you still have to look at it.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

Life was harder back then than it is now.
