Canadian Ringette History

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

The most interesting thing that I learned about Ringette is that the three petition defense forward and center used to identify the permission of the strike so blue was defense red was forward and white was center they made that rule cause if you played defense you played defense if you played forward you played forward so the defense can’t go out of the red line and take the forward place to go and thowt but now that is no longer a rule.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

There is a sport for everyone some girls like hockey but some girls like ringette so in1962 not all of the girls liked to play hockey but they liked to skate so that is why Sam Jack made ringette a sport and now it is most popular in Canada and Finland.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

What changed the most between when my family played and when I play now is that a lot of the rules change so like the puncheon rule how like if you played center you can’t go and switch parathion. Plus the sketch changed too some people played with finger skate and some people used hockey skate. Also, the jersey change to the old jersey had a hole in it but now the jersey has no hole in it.
