Jackman of All Trades - The Military Career of Captain Lisa Jackman

This project is about my aunt, Captain Lisa Jackman and what she did during and after her military career. I used the title, "Jackman of All trades", because she participated in more trades than most during her career.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

I think it was interesting to learn what it was like in the military from the perspective of three different trades. I also found out how few women are in the trade of Air Defence Artillery.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

I have learned that the military has changed a lot from how it was in the World Wars. I also learned, and was able to record, a great deal about my Aunt's military career that my family really knew nothing about. I think that if you have a veteran who is still alive today it's a good Idea to talk to them and learn more about their military career.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

My life is pretty easy right now, and I am glad that don't have to make challenging choices like the ones she has had to make.
