Residential School

My heritage fair project was on residential school. in the video I interviewed Pearl Pokiak and my uncle Lenard Kuptana

.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

I learnt that there was a lot of positive and negative that happen in residential school to the children, but that many of my family members and elders around my community attend residential school

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

What I have learnt by doing a project on residential school was that many of the people that attended residential school are still in pain and grief that they went to residential school, but another is that many of them move forward in their lives and living better and not letting what happening to them affect to much.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

I would say that the one thing we have in common is that we can do our traditional culture without being punish or hurt, but we can also look back and learn from the past.
