Skipping Through History

While Canada now has a large role in curling, it hasn't always been this way. There is so much that has changed since curling first came to Canada over 200 years ago. Not only with Canadians role, but the game itself.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

It was interesting to find out how far curling has come since the 1800s. The sport has changed so much from when it first came to Canada. Almost as if they were two completely different sports.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

I have learned that although curling seems to be such an underestimated sport, it is actually a huge part of our history. Even now, many people believe that curling is played by no one, while anyone can actually play it.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?
