Southern Alberta Agriculture

My Project is about southern Alberta agriculture; some of the main parts in the history, different types of irrigation and some Canadian inventions that helped with the progress of agriculture.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

I thought that the most interesting thing was the Noble Blade because it really helped improve the soil for farming. Also because it is was invented near where I live. And the inventor had a town named after him.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

I learned about some important Canadian inventions and their importance to southern Alberta and the rest of Canada. Also about the improvements of irrigation to improve agriculture in our dry climate in southern Alberta.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

Life today would be a lot easier because the land has already been farmed on and has lots of moisture. Today we have better technologies like tractors and pivots. They make it a lot easier to water our crops and seed crops and harvest them.
