Handle with Care - Deadly Skies

This model was commissioned by the HBC and built by Alan Coburn of Nanaimo, British Columbia, in the 1930s.

Items including moccasins and a book that were used by Philip de Carteret when he worked as a trapper and fur trader for Revillon Frères and the Hudson’s Bay Company between 1929 and 1934 in the Nunavik region of northern Quebec are profiled. 

A ram’s head snuff mull belonged to Hudson’s Bay Company governor Sir George Simpson.

Dr. Shelley Sweeney, head archivist of the University of Manitoba Library & Special Collections talks about the new exhibition featuring the adventures of polar explorer, Dr. Andrew Taylor. The exhibition will be available until August 30th, 2015.
