Tweeting History
As one of their projects for the War of 1812 bicentennial, the Archives of Ontario tweeted the diary of Ely Playter, a farmer from Upper Canada who fought with the British militia during the war. The diary provides a first-hand account of the events of the war, as well as a remarkable social history of the day-to-day affairs of a resident of Upper Canada.
Canada's History spoke with Sean Smith and Chris Sanagan from the Archives of Ontario, to learn more about Ely Playter and what his diary can teach us about the war.
