A visit to the sea brings you back to the roots of Canada

A visit to the city of Halifax offers the chance to follow many different threads of our history: fishing, immigration, and military history, not to mention sports and the arts. Visit the harbour area and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic to learn about the rich sea history in the area. Walk further down to the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, one of only two national museums located outside of the Ottawa area. You can also visit Halifax Citadel, a defensive fortification that has watched over the city for nearly 250 years and that is operated by Parks Canada. And if you want to vist the crown jewel of the province's heritage, take a day-trip to Nova Scotia's Uniacke Estate Museum Park.
