Canwest News Service: Gen. Wolfe portrait fetches $640,000

An unidentified Canadian buyer has shelled out a whopping $640,000 at an art auction in Britain — more than triple the expected price — to purchase the last known privately held portrait of Gen. James Wolfe, ill-fated hero of the Battle of the Plains of Abraham and mythic “conqueror of Canada.”
